Improving the Experience of Dementia and Enhancing Active Life: the IDEAL Study

20-08-2014

The IDEAL study is an observational study of people with dementia living in their own homes. The study will involve researchers visiting participants in their own home for assessments and interviews at regular intervals.

It is coordinated from Bangor University, Wales and funded by the Economic and Social Research Council. In Scotland the study is currently recruiting people with mild and moderate dementia in Tayside, Glasgow, Lothian and Lanarkshire to enter the study for 3 years.

IDEAL is the first large-scale research project of its kind, and what we find out will be used to influence policy and practice to try to ensure better well-being for older people experiencing dementia. More infromation is available at www.IDEALproject.org.uk
