Dementia Research Centre Launch

Alzheimer Scotland’s Dementia Research Centre was formally opened on World Alzheimer’s Day by Nicola Sturgeon, Deputy First Minister and Cabinet Secretary for Health, Wellbeing and Cities Strategy.

The Centre has been created in partnership with The University of Edinburgh in the School of Philosophy, Psychology and Languages Sciences.

The Research Centre will:
• provide a high quality environment for dementia research
• commission and develop a balanced portfolio of clinical and scientific research
• attract external dementia research funding
• develop and maintain a brain tissue bank
